Megan McGugan

Megan McGugan was manipulating shirts and drawing graphics on them when one day a friend said to her, “You should go to school for fashion design.”  So she did.
She never knew life would take her to Portland.  She is glad to be here. With her love for every aspect in the apparel world and all the opportunities Portland offers, she has decided she wants learn it all.
She has worked on several clothing lines from independent designers, including Project Runway’s Bryce Black, to major apparel companies, including Columbia Sportswear, Merrell and Fred Meyer.  For both Merrell and Fred Meyer, she worked on print and technical design.
“I look forward to teaching all I know to make a student’s portfolio fantastic and get ready for the industry,” she says.  At Portland Sewing, she teaches technical design and specification packages, “techs and specs.”
She graduated with a BFA in Apparel Design from The Art Institute of Portland in June 2010.
